Treadmill or walking pad: what to compare
A walking pad and a treadmill answer different questions. Separate an indoor walking plan from a running requirement, then compare the exact models on their own documentation.

The short answer
Start with what you will do on it. Two documented reference points show how far the categories can sit apart: the KingSmith WalkingPad A1 Pro is specified at 0.5–3.7 mph with a 47 × 16 in walking belt and 62 lb net weight, while Horizon's T101 Connect page lists 0.5–10 mph, 0–10% incline and 180 lb. These are two reference models, not a ranking of every walking pad or treadmill.
Reference 1: KingSmith WalkingPad A1 Pro
- Speed: 0.5–3.7 mph (6 km/h).
- Walking belt area: 47 × 16 in.
- Weight capacity: two variants, 230 lb or 300 lb.
- Motor: 1.25 HP brushless.
- Net weight: 62 lb.
- Folded: 32.7 × 21.5 × 5 in. Unfolded: 56.5 × 21.5 × 5 in.
The manufacturer markets it for walking and light jogging. No incline is listed in the specification we reviewed. Source: manufacturer page.
Reference 2: Horizon T101 Connect
- Speed: 0.5–10 mph. Incline: 0–10%.
- User weight capacity: 300 lb.
- Unfolded: 70.5 × 33.5 × 59 in. Folded: 46 × 34 × 61 in.
- Product weight: 180 lb. Folding: one-step hydraulic.
The page shows no year suffix. Our T101 page documents the T101-07, and Horizon's official documentation entry for it could not be retrieved in our review, so do not transfer these figures to a T101-07 or any other generation. The page's belt-size field is not a usable measurement, so we do not state one.
What the two sets of figures tell you
- Speed and use. The stated speed range is the first filter. If running is a requirement, a maximum of 3.7 mph does not meet it.
- Storage depth. The A1 Pro's stated thickness is 5 in, folded or unfolded. The T101 Connect folds to about 34 in wide and 61 in high, so it needs floor and wall space. Folding changes storage but does not make the delivery box smaller or remove operating clearances.
- Weight and delivery. 62 lb versus 180 lb changes who can move it and how it arrives. Ask the seller for packaged dimensions and delivery scope; see the delivery and setup planner.
- Identity. A familiar family can include different generations. Match the seller's exact model number to the manual before using any specification.
A simple way to decide
- Write the activity, who will use it and where it will stand.
- Check the stated speed range against the activity.
- Compare the delivery route, the operating area and the stored arrangement for the exact model.
- Ask for the model-specific care schedule, service arrangements and warranty.
